Hotel Route-Inn Abashiri Ekimae

When I arrived by train, it was raining, but I didn't even bring out my umbrella - I just waited under station's roof until the traffic lights changed and then went directly to the hotel in the matter of seconds. Barely got wet. You can hear station's announcements from the hotel's room, though (with the open window) - for me it was fine, but some people may get annoyed. And while the city's main attractions aren't close to the station, there isn't really any central point to the city - the museums are on the one side, the port and shops are on the other, so the station gets you a nice central location in-between. And bus stops very close.

Very lovely staff, accommodating me waiting in the lobby for my train even after checking out. Extra pillow given when asked. Easy central location for train station. I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet!

Great location just across the street from Abashiri JR Station, good breakfast and nice staff who kept our backpacks after check-out.

It was right across the Abashiri Station which was very convenient for first time visitors.
